It was fairly obvious where he's coming from, but at least he's found a creative way to put the Weasleys through a sort of humiliation conga / dance of the scumbag. Except for the twins, of course. And his other favourite characters. Ho hum.

that I don't know at certain points if I'm still reading because it's a page-turner or because I'm waiting for it to get better - to end my frustration. It's like Dan Brown. Also the spelling errors, americanisms and overly-mature ten-year-olds are apparently a big draw for me. But here I am. Do I need a 12-step plan or something?
Horrific violence (which is not a deal-breaker and expected from DLP folk but sometimes lacks a grounded feel), inexplicable decisions made by characters, and genuinely good ideas about many things.
...because usually violence isn't a deal breaker. But I think it was the callous attitude of the way that scene was written that got to me...that, and it was a favorite character. I also didn't know what I was getting into at the time: thought it would be more along the lines of Harry Potter: Lost going into that scene. Either way, it was late at night, and I needed to read some fluff before I could go to bed.
...Chapter 2 was disturbing. I think that's where I stop.
In which case, all I will say is:- You really, really, really, REALLY don't want to keep reading!
Some of the things he puts the characters through are horrific, in cases verging on gratuitous. I don't know what the moderating criteria on FF.N are, but there are a couple of points where he must surely be sailing very close to the wind.

Most if the authors that hover around the Dark Lord Potter site go for the more outré kind of stories - lots of badass!Harry and suffering and author-grudge character death. Still, some of my favorite authors are out of that, jbern being a main example.

Had a quick dip in and didn't really find anything I'd want to come back to read. Still, each to his or her own.

Yep, it really, really was. I put it down for a few days and then read more of it by accident. There you go.
