Changing default Font Size on MetaFic

At user request, I have just installed a font-size changing control on the site to help those that need it.
On the top-left, just under the "search" box, is a header that says "Text Size". This is expandable. If you don't see a selection to increase/decrease/reset the font size, click on it, and you should get a drop-down list of choices. (Read the full blog entry for details.)
The font size adjustment is presently limited to 30% of normal (if you like tiny fonts), or 200% of normal (if you like large fonts).
This is contingent on your browser supporting cookies, javascript, and the font sizes for the default font you view with. The cookies/javascript are required to store the "current" font size setting you are using. When you come back to MetaFic, it should keep the same font size you previously selected -- as long as you haven't wiped out your browser's cookie cache.
Please let me know if you have any problems, or need a wider range of font increase/decrease settings. You can reply to this blog post, or put an entry in the "Torture Dino" thread.

Is it possible…?
Is there any chance it could be made to apply just to the actual story text? I can replicate the current effect already with my browser, but I don't need the sidebar text to be enormous just so that I can read the story.

Probably. It was installed for vision impaired people, though, so is that a good idea?
Perhaps we should have two controls, one for "everything but content" and one for "content only". Then you can tweak each as you like. Hmmmm.

Well I'd have called them "content" and "interface" but I suppose "everything but content" works too. ;-)

Thanks for the text size adjustment. I really appreciate it. And just so you know, I really appreciate all of you wonderful authors sharing your talent here. When I'm reading I don't always take the time to review every chapter, mostly because I get too caught up in the story to stop reading. If any of your regular contributers have their original fiction published, please be sure to post a notice. I'll be one of the first in line to buy a copy. Many, many thumbs up to all of you!

You should try varifocals... they're worse.

I'd suggest using Firefox as your browser. With it, you can easily do Control-plus and the fonts will get bigger. Hit it multiple times until they are a size you like. I know that probably all browsers can increase font size, but I like the ease that Firefox will do it. Control-minus will decrease font size if you go too far. :)
