Can anyone point me to some worthwhile fics where Harry attends a school other than Hogwarts. I'm very vanilla i.e. canon in my shipping preference which may limit the fics you can recommend.

I've read some where he goes to Beauxbatons, and there's one called Harry Potter and the Irish Choice ( http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3771102/ ) which has him attending a school in Ireland (yes, rly ;-) but I would think your shipping requirements would kibosh almost all alternative schools, since there would have to be some extraordinary way for either Ginny to go with him or for them to meet somehow.

I do look forward to hearing from others with more knowledge, and to finding out how authors have coped with said problem.

Oh, hang on: there's one currently running which has him disappearing to Durmstrang with three of his younger siblings and returning to Hogwarts later on. Ah, here it is: Phoenix Eclipse ( http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5599533/ ). Let me know what you think. I'm trying to work out what it's crossed-over with: something like WoW, I suspect, but I'm no expert on that.
