Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

IT IS A TRUTH universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. Never was this truth more plain than during the recent attacks at Netherfield Park, in which a household of eighteen was slaughtered and consumed by a horde of the living dead.

I've looked at this book on a number of occasions and never got around to buying it. Now that money is in short supply I've often rued the fact that I hadn't bought it. However, a few days ago I happened upon it in a news group and happily downloaded it.

I'm not sure that the reworking would make a lot of sense to a lot and if you take it too seriously you'll be disappointed, but taken as a work of fanfic, it works. Just.

From a corner of the room, Mr. Darcy watched Elizabeth and her sisters work their way outward, beheading zombie after zombie as they went. He knew of only one other woman in all of Great Britain who wielded a dagger with such skill, such grace, and deadly accuracy. By the time the girls reached the walls of the assembly hall, the last of the unmentionables lay still.

    Okay, but what about Sense

Okay, but what about Sense And Sensibility And Sea Monsters? I haven't read Pride And Prejudice or Sense And Sensibility, but I am mildly curious about these...uh...rewrites.

    Worth it?

I've been meaning to buy it for a long time too...would you say it's worth it? Or should I just borrow it from the library?

I've not read the second one so I can't really comment on it. I've also not read the original so I'm not sure it would work for me.

I'd get it from the library as although I'm enjoying it, I can't see myself rereading it.

    What about "Mr. Darcy, Vampyre"?

    Has anyone read this one?

    Paul Is Undead

Paul Is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion is written like an oral history of the Beatles - if they were zombies. The 'author' who is a zombie also, has interviewed those involved and so the book is told in the words of the people involved. John Lennon is a zombie who wants to take over the world. He decides to use a rock band to accomplish this. First step, turn local musician Paul McCartney. They are soon joined by newly turned George Harrison. What's left? They find their drummer in Seventh Level Ninja Lord, Ringo starr. They face many obstacles to their success. Chief among them, numerous encounters with Britain's number one zombie killer, Mick Jagger. Not to mention an all out assault by Eighth Level Ninja Lord Yoko Ono.

Yes, it is as absurd as it sounds. I'm rather enjoying it.
