I feel like I've been completely incommunicado for weeks, so I thought I'd share. I recently took a 5-week intensive course, which usually isn't too bad, but this one was even more intensive than usual. I got almost nothing done during that whole time. That ended last week, and I was really looking forward to catching up a bit over the weekend. Unfortunately, my wife's grandfather (not someone she knew well) died on Saturday morning, and we ended up flying across the country to attend the funeral. The time between our hearing about it and our boarding a plane was exactly 3 hours, and we only got home last night around midnight. So my weekend was completely shot.
I'm sure it'll take me a few days to recover (again), but then I sincerely hope to get back to work on fanfic. Chuck, I swear I'll start working on that chapter, at long last. Then it's back to MoO. Hopefully I'll even remember what's going on. =)

I'm good. I hardly dash off a chapter overnight and then pace the floor. :-)
Eagerly awaiting more MoO!

Where did not just you go?
Dave, you've not been the only one who has been busy. There's been remarkably little activity on the site over the last week or so. Must be the holiday rush--LOL!
While we're all looking forward to up-dates on both the fics you're involved with, don't rush. Taking time with family is more important, especially this time of year. Oh, that sounds sort of patronizing--it's obvious you already know that. It's obvious from the family relationships--both by blood or by choice--that you portray in your writing.
Seasonal greetings to you and your family. And of course, to the beta team and their families as well. Good Grief--that's getting to be a lot of people!
Objectively speaking . . .
. . . don't you have a spreadsheet to answer that question?
I really couldn't say where you went, I didn't go there. Did you go here? It feels like one has lost one's way.

Erm. Well . . . yes, in a sense, I do.
There's only one way, so how can one have lost it? Duh.
The real question is can one
The real question is can one ever really be lost if one always knows where one is?
And I finally have the answer to the ageless riddle. What is the sound on One hand clapping?
Applause.

- A good novel is an indivisible sum; every scene, sequence and passage of a good novel has to involve, contribute to and advance all three of its major attributes: theme, plot, characterization.
