It is my favourite as well, and the first one that popped into my head when I wrote these, although it took a while to get the proper wording and format. Unfortunately, it also soured most of the others as none of them measured up quite as well, although the Full Moon: three blessings one curse was close.

- A good novel is an indivisible sum; every scene, sequence and passage of a good novel has to involve, contribute to and advance all three of its major attributes: theme, plot, characterization.

My favourite one is the camera one, having just done my Colin story. That one had a real punch of an poignant impact for such a brief passage. For some reason, it made me think of Dennis too.
My next favourite was the Full Moon one. Maybe we could try a similar challenge here. Hey Dave and Dino?
Was the one about the wand--"11" holy" correct or was that meant to be "11" holly"? Either way would be interesting. One meaning the wood of the wand, the other it's possible status for some people.
Also forgot to mention another favourite--the Damsel and the White Knight.
I had already done a comment but it seems to have vanished. To repeat--Congratulations on the SIYE win. I haven't read all of them there yet, but of the ones you entered, the camera one was my favourite, having just done my Colin story. It had a very poignant punch for its brevity. For some reason, it also made me think of Dennis too. Maybe as a survivor.
I was curious though, was the " 11" holy..." supposed to be " 11" holly..." or not? Either way would be interesting--one dealing with the wood of the wand, the other with how some people might feel about the wand.
I tried to edit out the redundant comment I just made and couldn't manage to do so.
Sigh, first I can't find the comments and then I do too many of them. Computers are annoying at times or to be honest my less than wonderful computer skills.
Comments
The one about the camera
The one about the camera choked me up. It was pure Hemmingway.
I went "awwww" when I read the two about Ron.
that camera got me
that camera got me

Well, those are very good.

Forgot a bit

Congratulations Jonathan!
On winning the "Best Overall" category of SIYE's "Six Word Challenge" with your "camera" entry. It seems it wasn't only here that it was a favourite.
Hmmm...my comment seems to have disappeared....

Sorry,
